Dollars For Penny

Hi there... We are the owners of the Frosty Freeze in Brookville, Pa. Last year there was an accident on the road in front of our business. And we want to do a fundraiser to help the woman who survived but lost everything, including her left leg.

On Monday, July 5th, 2021… Penny Conser and her fiancé Travis Hanel went on what was supposed to be a relaxing Harley ride to grab lunch. Instead, they became the victims of a fatal accident. A GMC truck traveling in the opposite direction turned into their path, causing a horrific fatal accident. Penny’s life was forever changed that day, emotionally, physically and mentally. That day, Penny was thrown from the bike and into the Frosty Freeze parking lot, where she laid not breathing and with no pulse and Travis was fatally wounded. While Travis died at the scene, Penny luckily was saved… A young lady happened to be there and did CPR to bring her back. This young lady (Kristian) and a few others did all they could to help Penny and Travis. That day, Penny lost everything… She lost her love Travis, her left leg, and the home they shared. Their dog “Junior” had to be re-homed, and she lost the job she enjoyed. It’s been a year since the accident, and the healing process is slow. In addition, the legal and financial impact has been and continues to be a struggle. The constant stress, worry and frustration of not having the means to purchase even the day-to-day items she needs is beating her down. And now, Penny has no income. She utilized what savings she had, but it’s now gone. The stress and worry have put weight on her, which is heart-wrenching. So, Penny’s hero family (the people at the scene who helped save her) reached out to see if they could lend a hand, and Penny accepted… This gofundme and a benefit car show will be held at the Frosty Freeze in Brookville, PA 15825, on August 7th. These funds are to get Penny the resources she needs for her day-to-day new life. She desperately needs a new front porch on her home, medical supplies to aid in her everyday struggles and basic home repair. Everything collected will go straight to Penny. Her sister, Amy, will be helping her figure that all out. These funds will genuinely help give her a hand up. She has always managed to climb out of life’s situations, and with our help, she will rise out of this one and begin her new life. She has come so far in the year she has been dealing with this. But there is a long rocky road ahead for her…. She truly is in need and is deserving of a helping hand up… And someday, she will pay it forward.
