Rock Against Cancer - Diana Ugalde
Donation protected
Diana Uriarte Ugalde is a loving daughter, mom and grandmother. She has always been a caretaker to family, friends and those in need. She cared for her father (who was bedridden for many years), her husband who passed away from lung cancer and is currently the sole caretaker for her mother, who at 103 years old is bedridden.
In November of 2016, Diana was diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor in her duodenum. The “Whipple” procedure, a very serious and specialized surgery, was performed on November 17, 2016. Upon further tests, it was concluded that the cancer started in the Pancreas. Diana was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
After a difficult recovery from surgery, Diana was prescribed six months of chemotherapy. She has currently completed one month of chemotherapy and has experienced its side effects. She has remained positive and strong despite fevers and fatigue. She continues to care for her mother and perform all the daily chores needed to keep a home.
Diana’s positive attitude, loving generosity towards others and loyalty is now returned to her daily through the love and support of her family and numerous friends.
The sisters of the Beta Upsilon chapter of Theta Phi Alpha are raising money for Diana and the process of her treatment, for she grandmother to our sister Brianalyn Ugalde. We as a sorority will be hosting a concert fundraiser as well.
The concert will be located at Saint Leo University, on Monday, March 6th, at 5:00 PM in the SCC Bowl. Admission will be $5, and there will be a taco truck on-site for dinner as needed.
Saint Leo University Address: 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo FL, 33574.
