L &D Nurse Break-room Renovation

Nurses, Midwives, and Doctors work around the clock giving exceptional care to their high risk obstetrics patients, on the Birthing Pavilion at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. 

I personally have been on the receiving end of this amazing teams support (see pictures above) in welcoming my own two babies into the world. And I wanted to organize and follow through with this project as my own thank-you to my work family.

We walk women and families through the most exciting, happiest, scariest, and sometimes most heart breaking times in their lives.

We give all of ourselves to physically and emotionally support the moms that enter our unit. Even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic where we are needing to wear increased PPE and our patients support teams are limited to one person.

Help us continue to give the best care and not work from an empty tank. The money raised from this fundraiser will go directly towards a more relaxing and functional break-room for all of the DHMC Birthing Pavilion staff to eat their breakfast lunch or dinner, have a cup of coffee, pump, nap, cry, or just take their shoes off for three minutes on those crazy shifts where no one gets a break.

The goal is to raise enough money to purchase some or all of the following:

-new couch, washable couch cover, or both
- new couch pillows with washable covers
-new plates, silverware, drawer organizers and dish drying rack
-large cheese board/cutting board for holidays
- wall art, mirror, and clock
- macrame wall hanging behind couch
-new furniture pieces to hold our microwave, coffee pot, and breastmilk fridge.
-phone charging cables
- alarm clock 
- new table and chairs
-mug rack wall hanging
- new improved coffee pot AND coffee
- book ends
- sugar and salt/pepper shakers
- magazine rack
-fridge magnets
-dish soap and sponges/scrubbers
-misc. relaxing, aesthetically pleasing decor

any leftover profit will be used to keep it stocked with dish soap, sponges, coffee, sugar, creamer etc.

And most importantly I will use any leftover funds to buy yarn for our crafty staff to knit or crochet hats and blankets for our angel babies and bereaved mamas. As well as art supplies for crib cards and small projects.
