We need your help! Meet Xander-
This little boy is 10 years old. He has L1CAM Syndrome. He is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He has a shunt to drain fluid off his brain. His Neurosurgeon found that the shunt was clogged so they flushed it in hoping that the problem would be solved. He was put on a CPAP because his lungs were not moving much air and his diaphram on the right side doesn't seem to be moving at all. They suctioned his throat and his respiratory stabilized. Xander is stable, off intubation and responsive but, he's not waking up. His nursing staff has been giving him breathing treatments to help his lungs. There has been so many tests to see if he has an infection and if so, what medications they need to take care of the unknown infection. He is having pain episodes that look seizure like but the EEG is showing significant damage and lower brain activity on his left side. Xander will be sedated to run more tests and another EEG will be done at the end of this week to see if his brain is trying to heal itself or if it's permanent. The Doctor's think that a part of his brain may have been deprived of oxygen causing all the distress. Xander's parents are striving to do all they can for their son. They are spending countless days and nights by their son's side praying for a miracle. and hoping that in time and healing that their sweet boy will come back to them. They have a long road ahead so,If you can help in any way, please do so. They are having to take off work and bills are piling up. Every cent given is going toward any medical expenses, bills, food and gas, ext.
