The L2-Ukraine Relief organization was founded in response to the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis, and our mission is to provide relief to Ukrainian refugees, helping displaced families survive, recover, and rebuild their lives. Our immediate goal is to provide school supplies to children of displaced Ukrainian families crossing the western borders of Ukraine. We were inspired to action by images of mothers and children leaving their homes and traveling hundreds and thousands of miles into the unknown. These families evacuated with only essentials, packing a suitcase or two containing only clothing. We believe providing children with pens, pencils, markers, crayons, coloring books, paper, notebooks and more can help distract from the traumatizing events of uprooting their lives.
Our founder, Joe Lenihan, is the Founder and former president of Pacific Golf Group, a 2-billion-dollar, golf course ownership and management company in Japan. He is also the current owner and developer of Loray Mill, a 600,000 sq. ft. loft style apartment complex in Gastonia, NC. Mr. Lenihan has distributed school supplies in countries like Cuba, Mexico, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar to name a few, and he has seen the major impact basic supplies can have on the spirit of children in crises.
Our organization will be making our first trip to Poland March 20th and coordinating with humanitarian efforts on the ground to distribute school supplies directly to families in need. We are crowdsourcing funds from people interested in improving the lives of children impacted by the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis.
