La Gonave, Haiti's First Propane Station Ever

We're setting out to raise money for Eliezer (He's the young guy at the left in the photo).  He lives on the island of La Gonave, Haiti and has been learning construction and electrical skills for the past several years, working when he can to put his brothers and sisters through school.  He's recently done a lot of volunteer work to provide food aid to hundreds of people on the island who have suffered because of the political instability, inflation and the results of the Pandemic--that is what the men are doing in the photo. 

For a long time he has been concerned about tree cutting for the production of charcoal and the drought conditions that La Gonave often experiences.  His goal is to start a propane business to provide an alternative fuel in the largest town, Anse Galet.  Currently anyone who wants to get propane must take their tanks across the sea 12 miles and then haul them an hour and a half into Port au Prince.
Funds raised will be used to purchase a piece of property and fencing and to prepare the area for the propane tank and machinery necessary to refill empty tanks.  If enough is raised, he will purchase the tank and machinery and La Gonave will have it's first propane station!

This fund could mean so much to this island, where so many trees have been cut down, and to Eliezer's family who lost their father to CA  6 years ago, and has not had a reliable source of income since then.  They are hardworking and grateful for whatever help they would receive.  Big dreams are hard to have and realize in Haiti.
