All of the families of La Hacienda Apartments, a 38 unit affordable housing property owned by Relay Resources, are being evicted from their community in SE Portland through no fault of their own. The landlord says it doesn’t “pencil out” to make repairs and is forcing everyone to leave. But many residents, including people with disabilities, seniors, and families with young kids, have no place to go. The residents have asked Relay Resources to not evict them, especially in the middle of the school year, but Relay Resources refuses to reconsider. In response . . . the Tenants of La Hacienda have formed a Union and we are asking for your help with costs related to organizing and moving as well as facilitate help for individual Tenants going through crisis.
