La operación de Dago Duno, Dago Duno's Operation

El 21/03/23, Dagoberto Duno, también conocido como Dago, fue diagnosticado con cáncer de próstata. Dago, mi padre, tiene 66 años y actualmente vive en Caracas, Venezuela, donde cualquier tratamiento médico que reciba debe pagarlo de su bolsillo. Debido a que gran parte de nuestra familia, incluido yo mismo, se ha ido de Venezuela, ha sido difícil saber a dónde acudir y cómo apoyarlo.

Estamos agradecidos de que el tumor esté localizado y pueda tratarse mediante cirugía con un procedimiento llamado prostatectomía laparoscópica, pero debe realizarse lo antes posible para evitar un mayor crecimiento.

Mi padre siempre ha sido el fuerte, el pilar y el guía en nuestra familia. Espero que podamos ser esa fuerza para él ahora. Conseguirle la atención médica adecuada que necesita significa garantizar su bienestar durante los años venideros, si Dios quiere. Pero también le da la esperanza de que pronto tendrá la oportunidad de ver crecer a sus nietos, mientras les otorga a sus nietos la oportunidad de aprender y conocer al hombre que ha sido el pilar de nuestra familia desde que tengo memoria.

El procedimiento lo realizará el Dr. Jorge Jackson Briones en la Clínica Grupo Médico las Acacias, con un costo estimado de Bs. 363.150,00 - aproximadamente el equivalente a $14,526 USD. On 03/21/23, Dagoberto Duno, who also goes by Dago, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Dago, my father, is 62 years old, and currently lives in Caracas, Venezuela, where any medical treatment he receives must be paid out of pocket. Because much of our family, myself included, has left Venezuela, it has been difficult to know where to turn and how to support him.

We are thankful the tumor is localized and can be treated through surgery with a procedure called laparoscopic prostatectomy, but it needs to be done as soon as possible to prevent further growth.

My father has always been the strong one - the pillar and the guide - in our family. I hope we can be that strength to him now. Getting him the proper medical care he needs means ensuring his well-being for God willing, years to come. But it also gives him hope he’ll soon have the opportunity to watch his grandchildren grow - while granting his grandkids the opportunity to learn and know the man who has been our family’s rock for as long as I can remember.

The procedure is to be done by Dr. Jorge Jackson Briones in the Clinic Grupo Médico las Acacias, with an estimated cost of Bs. 363.150,00 - roughly the equivalent of $14,526 USD.
