LA Wildfire Education Recovery Fund
Tax deductible
Wildfires have devastated tens of thousands of acres in the Los Angeles area, destroying homes and schools, disrupting learning, and causing hundreds of thousands of children to miss school. In response, GoFundMe.org and ClassDojo have partnered to launch the Wildfire Education Recovery Fund to support verified fundraisers on the GoFundMe platform, focused on helping K-12 public schools recover and enabling children to return to learning. This fund was launched with an initial donation from ClassDojo of $25,000 and a match of $25,000 from GoFundMe.org.
ClassDojo’s mission is to give every child on earth an education they love by connecting teachers, families, and kids to create more engaged communities. Our platform is used and loved by more than 50 million people around the world, including many school communities across Greater Los Angeles.
In the face of the January 2025 wildfires, we’re raising funds to support the LAUSD community and verified nonprofits as they rebuild, restructure, and continue to keep kids learning even in a time of crisis. Together with GoFundMe.org, we aim to provide immediate and long-term support to schools impacted by the fires. The fund will also collaborate with neighboring districts to create access and provide support for affected schools and children throughout the region.
Thank you for supporting the kids of LA and their education—updates will be posted as recipients are identified and funded.
Grants will be distributed to local public schools and to nonprofits supporting efforts to rebuild and get kids learning again. We will post updates when those recipients are identified.
