Lacey Echeverry's Road to Recovery

Lacey Echeverry is one of the strongest and sweetest women you will ever meet. She served active duty for a short time in the U.S. Air Force, alongside her husband Jeff who was also on active duty. After her time in the military, she became a full-time business process analyst. Lacey and Jeff have two beautiful children, Ethan and Vanessa, and exhibit their strong family values in everyday life. They have a strong faith in Jesus and love serving in their local community.
Two years ago, Lacey was diagnosed with colon cancer. Since then, she has undergone surgery, numerous chemo treatments, gone into remission, and recently started chemo again as a precaution for new cells found.
On Monday, December 3, 2018, Lacey was involved in a serious car accident. Thankfully, her husband and children were not in the car at the time. However, Lacey was brought to the OU Medical Trauma Center for immediate surgery. She suffered from severe trauma to the left side of her body that resulted in a left broken femur, a small fracture in her skull, and injuries to her left arm that were so severe it had to be amputated.
Lacey is currently in stable condition but will need more surgeries in the near future. Doctors are assessing her condition to determine when she will undergo additional surgeries.
Lacey and Jeff are unable to accept flowers or gifts at this time. They will, however, need financial support. Jeff will not be working so he can help care for Lacey on another long road to recovery. He will also be caring for their two young children as they travel this difficult road together.
