Lacey, Kirk and Little Man

Hi my name is Nicky Robichaud and I'm fundraising For Lacey Piper her Husband Kirk and Little man, Lacey has been my best friend for many years.
On Friday, October 20th Lacey and her husband Kirk had a planned vaginal birth with the Midwives at Peterborough Hospital. Something so exciting and special quickly took a very scary turn for the worst. Lacey‘s uterus completely ruptured, causing her to need an emergency C-section. Followed by the C-section, Lacey had to have a full hysterectomy due to her uterus rupturing beyond repair. The baby had to be resuscitated after delivery. Mom and Dad only got a hold him for a split second after birth. They do not know how long he was out of oxygen. Baby and dad were sent to SickKids Hospital immediately. Baby needs a number of tests done. Lacey was not able to get there until 4 days later. Kirk stayed with the baby the whole time. They are currently living in the Ronald McDonald house it is cheaper than a hotel, but still costs daily to stay there. They also have to pay parking fees at the hospital, food and other possible unexpected cost. They finally got to hold their baby on Wednesday. He is currently breathing on his own now, but still needs his tubes left in just Incase, they don’t know how much damage has been caused with the lack of oxygen because they don’t know how long he was unable to breathe. Both baby and Lacey (mom) have a long road to recovery and a lot of unexpected expenses that the family was not prepared for. If you can donate anything at all, that would be greatly appreciated by the family. These unexpected expenses the family now has should be the least of their worries during a traumatic time. I'm hoping with some help from our great community they can keep their focus on healing.
