Hello Friends and Family,
I'm thrilled to announce that I've been accepted for graduate study at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. I will be pursuing a Master's in Design within an intimate cohort of 13 students from around the world.
My pathway into design has been heavily influenced by peers and mentors I've come to know while living in Chicago. As well as the following organizations I've had the pleasure of learning from: BlackSpace, Speculative Edu , Hackers & Designers , and The School for Poetic Computation .
I plan to develop a thesis around the importance of play as an identity-affirming experience. Centering Blackness and uplifting individual and collective agency by using afrofuturism to expand the imagination of children, adolescents, and adults.
By donating to my fundraiser, you are helping me make up for income I've missed due to the COVID-19 pandemic . I appreciate your support during this time of multiple crises. Any amount raised over my goal will go to organizations in Chicago and Minneapolis fighting for racial justice.
