Help LaDonne With Her Lung Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
9/6/2023 Update: We want thank all of you for your generosity, and most of all your prayers. We are much closer to our financial goal, but still short. Any amount will help and be received with great appreciation.
LaDonne will be discharged tomorrow from UCSF Medical Center and transfer to Koz House where she'll begin her 6 week outpatient recovery. Please keep her and her caregivers in your thoughts and prayers.
8/28/2023 Update: LaDonne is now three days into post transplant recovery, and doing very well. That's three days out of 56 before she can even come home, though. These next weeks are the ones that she can really use your financial support, as well as your emotional and spiritual encouragement.
8/27/2023 Update: Took her first walk today.
Hello Everyone. Meet LaDonne Lenzini. She is a mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and my good friend. LaDonne has suffered from obstructive pulmonary disease for many years. There is no cure for this, and her condition had degraded to the point that she was referred to the UC San Francisco Medical Center to be evaluated for a potential lung transplant. After two years of frequent trips to San Francisco for consultations with the transplant team and hundreds of exhausting tests, she was approved and has been added to the transplant waitlist. That is the good news. Unfortunately, when a match is found, she will need to relocate to San Francisco so she can be within 20 minutes of the hospital for six weeks after the transplant. This will be an out-of-pocket expense for food and lodging there, in addition to maintaining her own housing expenses. Please consider giving what you can to help. With much gratitude, Ed
