Lahaina Fire Leaves Courtney & Dan with No Income
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Zedrouh Reich. Many of you know that my daughter, Courtney Taylor, lives in Lahaina, Maui. Thank God she’s safe and had the intuition to leave Front Street the morning of the fire and head North to her boyfriend's new apartment.
They had no idea that Front Street and many other areas were burned to the ground due to internet, cellular, and power outages for days. They had to walk and catch a bus to get out of Lahaina until it was safe to return home because there was no gas to fill their tanks.
Courtney and Dan are in the process of seeking a new place to live on another island because they all depend on the tourist trade for their income— Courtney drove for Uber and Dan worked for Holle Fine Arts Gallery which burned to the ground. It will take many years to rebuild this area.
Moving anywhere is expensive but moving from one island to another increases that substantially.
All monies raised will be used for:
- Moving expenses
- Rent
- Food
- Gasoline
- Utilities
I am so grateful that she and her loved ones are safe. I'm grateful as well for all who have come to their aid. But this is more than just an immediate situation, quickly remedied. So, I ask you to give what you can to help this hardworking, loving couple until they can fully take care of themselves.
I hope that you will give, but whether you can or not, please hold them and everyone on the island in your heart.
