LAHAINA FIRE TOOK EVERYTHING - Graham Hensser❤️

Donation protected

9/20 UPDATE: the kids FINALLY found a long term lease yesterday in Napili! Though expensive, $3300 a month for a 1 bedroom…they finally after 42 days of long lines, moving from room to room , they can rest and let the healing begin. Still no government funding received from FEMA, Disaster Unemployment, Red Cross, Biden etc….and after paying first and last months rent ($6600) , their funds are extremely low but their spirits are soaring! In a week , the thousands of fire survivors still housed in hotels will be kicked out to make room for tourists so I’m afraid it will be mass chaos for many and many will remain homeless . Maui needs tourists but our workforce requires housing and financial assistance for a very long time. Thank you gofundme for donating not once but three times $100 each time to Grahams account. We continue to ask for your help, as they are not back to work yet and their funds are drying up quickly. Just yesterday they stood in a 4 hour line to get a $500 food stamp card. Thank you to all those who continue to keep them in your prayers and have donated and continue to do so. They could not have gotten thus far without you- family, friends and strangers alike……have kept them going…….please continue to share their story ………many, many, mahalos . ❤️❤️❤️

9/12- needs nursing clothes, closed toed shoes, stethoscope all things nursing as he starts as a Nurse at Kula Hospital next month and his funds are running low- a new job will truly help now he just needs LONG TERM HOUSING- everything is taken or is out of his budget - some places asking $5000 per month, crazy - every little penny helps. Let’s continue to help get them back on their feet , it’s unimaginable what these kids and our entire town is going through. Direct donations are the only way all these folks are being able to survive right now. Unfortunately, the government moves very slow with no financial or housing help given yet AND ITS BEEN 34 days of long lines, filling our endless paperwork, proving residency without documentation as it was lost in the fire, couch surfing and tents. Luckily the locals are a constant outpouring of love and assistance to those they don’t even know. ALOHA IS A BEAUTIFUL THING! The world could learn so much from our terrible tragedy- pray for Lahaina and please pray for my son - he is resilient, positive and continues to put one foot in front of the other daily. Our family is so very appreciative of the out pouring of your donations- please continue to donate and share - don’t forget about our island people. Lastly, come to Maui - visit, hug, talk story and most importantly spend locally- we need your economic support island wide. Lahaina is closed but Kaanapali and northward is all open . I can guarantee you’ll be taken care of - whether our Ohana is homeless or not - that’s just what they do- it’s in their blood- SHARING ALOHA AND HELPING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MAKE THOSE WONDERFUL LIFELONG MEMORIES. Mahalo Nui Loa.

9/10: UPDATE: my kids have finally found a condo that they can stay in until November 1, 2023….located on the westside so now they are surrounded by their friends and family.
They STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY federal funds …NO FEMA, NO RED CROSS, NO MAUI UNITED WAY…nothing…..their funds are dwindling but their hearts are strong - SO STRONG! THESE KIDS ARE RESILIENT ! The Maui community, though small, has moved mountains on their very own, setting up little local “costcos” everywhere filled with clothing, groceries and necessities from donated items from our island and outer islands ….they wait for nobody , immediately helping each other. The very real issue is no housing …. And with Maui opening up ( very needed to restore the economy) the hotel/condos will be evicting our all Maui families to accommodate tourists……it’s a tough situation and one with no real solution yet. many are still unaccounted for, too many lost and thousands hurting, standing in line after line, after line trying to secure financial and housing assistance, day after day , after day for now 30 days. Please continue to share their story and then ask your friends and family to share and donate if they can. Asking for help is never easy but I have to do everything I can to support my family.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart, truly.

9/2 UPDATE: No government funds received as of yet However, Tannah was able to but a Maui Cruiser
,so now they both have vehicles to get to and from. Gas on Maui is extremely limited, locals lining up for hours in select neighborhoods with gas cans receiving gas from companies that are kind enough to donate it. There are still tons of donation sites set up by locals that provide water, food and clothing. Many have been moved into temporary shelters at hotels with a 30 day stay…..my kids have been lucky enough to find a bedroom in someone’s home until they are can secure a long term housing situation for themselves…which is looking pretty dire as housing was limited before the fire. But I will say the Maui community has shown up ten fold for all those who’ve lost their homes and jobs. It is because you all of you and your donations these two have began piecing their life back together. Please continue to share as they have a very long road ahead of uncertainty….but they are strong and will prevail. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support. Let’s not forget about these guys. I can even imagine what they are going through and will be up against. With love ❤️Lisa

8/25 UPDATE: Thus far they have received .....NO $$ from FEMA , NO $$ from Red Cross, NO Biden $700, NOTHING -ZERO.....no help for these guys...no housing , no government assistance.....( they have filed for everything the very next day) they are 1000% relying on the gofundme donations....ITS BEEN 17 days already.....how can they sustain? THANK YOU FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF OUR FAMILYS' HEARTS for all that have donated already. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SAHRE /DONATE........ pray they find housing

8/12 Update: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of support and efforts. This isn't over, it hasn't even begun. They will need assistance for a very long time. Right now a monetary contribution is the best way everyone can help so that they can have enough money to hopefully soon secure a temporary place to lay their heads. Funds from FEMA, RED CROSS etc., do not go directly to the locals and thus far has been more of a roadblock than a help. Our biggest fear is that in a week or two all the Cameras will be gone and they will be forgotten, left homeless.... ....PLEASE HELP OUR FAMILY CONTINUE TO RAISE DONATIONS by sharing and CONTINUE TO SHARE my beautiful son's gofundme page to your social media, asking all your friends to also share. Any amount will help! I humbly thank you from the depths of my heart. ( this has been SOOO HARD)

Hi, my name is Lisa...I am the proud mama bear of this amazing human being Graham Hensser. He and his girlfriend, a long-time resident of Lahaina, Maui just went through the horrific wildfires that ripped through and stole our beautiful Lahaina town. After having to evacuate many locations several times yesterday, they are finally safe. They left with the clothes on their backs as so many did. They have nothing left, no home, no clothes or shoes,.......nothing. If you have had the opportunity to meet him you would know how selfless, caring and genuine he is. He works full-time at the Hyatt Regency Maui and just recently applied for a second job as a Registered Nurse. It takes two jobs to even survive on Maui for locals, but with no place to call home or clothes, it will be an uphill battle. We, of course, will be sending them as much as we possibly can- but I'm afraid it's not enough. I can't imagine going through what they are going through, everything lost, missing friends.....what our little island just went through. I recently relocated to Tx and I feel so helpless being so far away. I am humbly asking -if you have a bit to spare, please donate - anything will help. I will collect the funds and send it to them so that they can start to rebuild their lives. They will need first and last months' rent ( which in Hawai’i can be $7500-9500), clothing, work shoes, sheets, dishes, utilities, food, and all the little things that add up so quickly when you are just starting your entire life over again. Let's help get them back on top of life so he can continue to greet island visitors, sharing the Aloha Spirit and the best Nurse- helping the many others that were not so lucky. With Love and Many Mahalos, Lisa
