Lahaina, Maui Fire Akana Family Relief Fund
Donation protected
This fund will provide relief to the Akana family and friends who were victims of the catastrophic fire that swept through Lahaina, Maui on August 8th, 2023. Thankfully, all family members are confirmed safe and accounted for, but their lives have been upended by the devastation of the fire.
-6 homes have burned down and all personal items destroyed, leaving 30 family members without shelter and essential goods to fulfill their basic needs.
-The family-owned Nagasako General store and deli has also burned down, and most of the family members are now left without jobs.
My name is Barret Vollmer, I live in Portola Valley, CA and I am creating this fund for my close friend, Marshall Akana, who lives in Southern California and grew up in Lahaina, Maui. Marshall will be traveling to Maui as soon as he is able to help his family. All fund proceeds will be sent directly to Marshall who will use the funds to purchase medical supplies, food, and clothing for his family.
Please give what you can. We deeply appreciate your support in this time of need.
