My Sister Lost Everything in the Maui Fire
Donation protected
My sister Krisy lived in Lahaina, at the same address for 10 years. In the late afternoon on Tuesday, August 8th, her ohana burned to the ground. The fire came so quickly, fueled by dry conditions and 90mph winds, that she did not even have time to grab her purse in order to escape. This is a current photo of where Krisy lived and her neighborhood also destroyed. They had no power or cell service and many local residents were staying indoors because the record winds from Hurricane Dora made it unsafe to be outside. I thank God that the Mango tree branch broke, otherwise Krisy would not have gone outside to see the black smoke looming behind her.
Krisy is actively searching for her beloved cat Ziggy, who had run away earlier in the day because of the intense winds. Please donate to help my sister start rebuilding her life. Please also send positive thoughts and pray for the people of Maui, especially her neighbors in Lahaina, that they all made it out safely.
*Thank you for all your support and generosity. All the donations will help her replace everything she lost. Update: Since they have been allowing previous residents back to see what’s left, Krisy has been leaving food and water for any and all pets that may be alive and in need in her neighborhood. We still have hope that Krisy’s cat Ziggy will be found. Update: We have no sign of Ziggy. Krisy’s tag on Ziggy stop responding and therefore we can assume, he has passed.
