Aloha to our Ohana near and far,
As you all have seen, our lil historic Lahaina town suffered a tragic fire. There are truly no words to explain the devastation and loss the West side of Maui is experiencing right now. It has been a few weeks and the numbness and shock is beginning to fade as we find ourselves grieving and navigating decisions that will affect the rest of our lives.
It is so sad what has happened, how so many are impacted, left with nothing, and the loss of loved ones.
Angie and I find ourselves in a situation we never imagined. We have lost everything but our wonderful fur babies and our 2 cars. They will have to rebuild our townhouse and that will probably take years. We are not sure what we are going to do yet but we are exploring all options. Our tourism industry on the west side is going to be much different for the years to come.
Typically, Angie and I are giving back to our community, our Ohana, and the organizations we support. Now, we find ourselves in a very uncomfortable situation of having to ask for help. Yet here we are. What a humbling experience. We appreciate anything you can do to help, even a prayer, to assist us and others on get back to our feet and rebuild our lives. For those that have reached out please know we will get back to you as soon as we can. Our service is still not consistent, so we are trying to respond in between working and when we have sufficient service.
Mahalo to all for your prayers, love, and support. It means the world.
