Update 9/28
Very close to reopening, aiming for end of next week! All orders on our website this week are 100% going to the high building costs!

UPDATE 8/29/24: Despite the delays with construction, everything is finally moving quickly and smoothly! We are super excited to be only a couple weeks away from opening! My wife is also 3 months pregnant now! so much great news

UPDATE: Aloha everyone, Chris Anderson here. I am the new owner of Lahaina Printsellers. I worked for the company for over 10 years, have been living in Lahaina for 16 years (I lost my home on Malo Street) and after the owners retired, they passed the business over to me, to continue their journey towards 100 years of business. I am pleased to announce, Lahaina Printsellers will be reopening at the Lahaina Cannery Mall, August 2024. We will be right next to Starbucks and across from Jersey Mikes. The following are pictures of the space, prior to renovations happening this month (July 2024)

All money from this fundraiser, is going towards the purchase of our equipment and renovations. The plan currently is to be open for the anniversary of the fire, August 8th, 2024. We will also have a celebration of life, for the previous owner, Alan Walker, who sadly passed away at the beginning of July.

Mahalo Nui Loa for the support, and we are excited to be the first gallery to reopen since the fire!

Initial Information from fundraiser below :

Lahaina Printsellers was established in 1978 with our anniversary originally being in August. Alan & Charlene Walker over the next several decades, worked to build a collection of antique maps and local art , cementing Lahaina Printsellers as one of the most recognizable galleries in Lahaina. The production office, located on Limahana street archived and stored thousands of antique maps and files for all of the artists over the years, and served as the go-to place for residents of Maui for art. Unfortunately, the Lahaina Wildfires, ravaged our town, destroying the majority of businesses including both locations. Alan and Charlene, ready for retirement have passed the mantle onto me, to continue Lahaina Printsellers' legacy and provide a home for local artists once more.

My name is Chris Anderson, my wife and I also lost our home and way of life. I have worked with Lahaina Printsellers for just over 10 years now and served as Gallery Director, Production Manager and the last couple years, Head of Operations. I am very proud and honored to continue Lahaina Printsellers with the respect and strive for customer satisfaction Alan & Char originally built this company on. This venture is a tough one, with our entire collection of digitally archived art and maps being destroyed, millions of dollars of originals gone and a home for local artists buried in rubble. With the news that we hear about the rebuild taking longer than they projected, I cannot standby and wait. We just relaunched our website with a doubled commission (from before) rate for the artist, to raise money to keep the artists' who lost their income source able to stay on the island. My next step is to secure a location for production once again so we can continue to rebuild not just a gallery, but a home that can support as many local artists as we can.

Unfortunately, we still have not been allowed access to see our Front Street Gallery or Production Gallery. From photos and videos we saw online, however it confirmed the worst-case scenario for both. I refuse to let this keep us down though and want to stay and make sure the rebuild of Lahaina is done properly. With so many iconic businesses no longer coming back, I will make sure Lahaina Printsellers lives to celebrate its 100th anniversary in my lifetime.

100% of this fundraiser is going to rebuild costs : Printers, rent, hiring local residents, supporting local artists and rebuilding one of Maui's oldest galleries! Mahalo Nui Loa from the bottom of our heart for your support.
We will sadly, never be able to rebuild our maps section to its entirety, and want to thank Bonnie Walker and Alyce Valenta for over being with Lahaina Printsellers for over 40 years! They built memories with so many people over the years. Bob Fontana was only with us for 10 years but you can't find a review about us without seeing his name.
