I would like to take a minute of your time to tell you a little about someone we all know and love, Laila Hassan. Many of you know her from her endless hours working at the Kingwood Country Club before it flooded. What some of you might not know is Laila's story. Laila was born and raised in Lebanon during the Lebanese Civil War and has told me the stories about her and her cousin that would have to run from one building to another to get water for her family. How the sharp shooters shot the bucket she was carrying and laughed telling me that she thought the water that splashed on her was her own blood. Laila grew up and married a man from Lebanon and moved to the United States and had 3 children. To hear her talk about her children just melts my heart and anyone that knows anything about Laila knows her children are her life.
Laila's husband passed away several years ago which left her raising her children on her own. She has hustled and worked her tail off at the Kingwood Country Club  just to get by and pay her bills . Well as most of you know August 2017 Hurricane Harvey flooded half of Kingwood and the country club as part of that so she lost her job.  This STILL did not get her down, she always says she is blessed. She picked up a job here at the travel agency, worked at a flower shop AND Nordstroms and still couldn't make the money stretch but she still sees herself as blessed and prayed about it. Finally she just couldn't make it work any longer and moved to California to be with her sister and family that could help her, so she packed her bags and her kids and recently moved to California. She is the type of friend that you never want to see go but I was so happy she was finally getting a break.
About a week ago I got word that her youngest son passed away while in California. I can not imagine the pain of losing a child and for Laila, that is all she has, her children.
At this time I am starting this gofund me to help Laila with funeral costs for Karim and expenses during this difficult time.

Please if there is anything we can do to help Laila  it would mean so much.

Thank you for your time reading this.
