LaJuana Dorris Hospital and Living Expenses

Hi, my name is Patrick and let me start off with the fact I have never done a GoFundMe page, ever. I received a call this weekend and found out that our dear friend LaJuana Dorris and her husband Mark are in a dire medical and financial situation and they need your prayers and they need the love and financial support of all who may feel moved to help them.

Lajuana is a wonderful Christian woman who is always the first step up to help or to pray for others. She and Mark live in Tulsa and currently she is the primary source of income for the family as Mark is retired. Friday night, April 5th they were baby-sitting their grandson. LaJuana decided to sleep out in the living room with her grandson by the TV for a fun sleepover. When Mark got out of bed Saturday morning and went into the living room he found LaJuana sitting on the edge of the couch in distress, in tears and not in her right mind. Her head was hurting so severely it caused her to begin vomiting and losing consciousness. Mark called an ambulance and she was rushed to Saint Francis hospital in Tulsa. The doctors quickly discovered that she had suffered a cerebral aneurism and performed immediate brain surgery. Currently she is in ICU and on a ventilator. The artery that burst has been addressed and they have opened her skull to relieve pressure on her brain. However, currently they have been unable to get complete control of the brain swelling. She has not regained consciousness and they have not been able to remove her from the ventilator as of the evening of Sunday, April 7th. Please lift her and Mark up in prayer and ask for guidance for her doctors to be able to gain control of the swelling of her brain and eventually wean her off of the ventilator.

The purpose of this page is to raise funds to help with medical expenses and living expenses during this trial. As mentioned, LaJuana is the primary source of income for the home. She works in the accounting department for a local business in Broken Arrow. She is currently without health insurance. As you can imagine, the medical expenses will be astronomical and money is needed for rent and utilities as well while LaJuana is not working. Doctors are estimating she will be in ICU for a minimum of 3-4 weeks and faces lengthy occupational and physical therapy before being released.
