Lake Mary Boy Scout Troops Trailer Replacements

Over the past two weeks, two Lake Mary, Florida Boy Scout troops had their trailers stolen — Troop 507, chartered by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and Troop 263, chartered by Markham Woods Presbyterian Church. Troop 507’s trailer was thankfully empty, however, Troop 263’s trailer was completely loaded with all of their camping gear. Through many previous fundraisers, the scouts, troop leadership, and their parents raised the necessary funds to purchase these trailers and equipment, and to fix and maintain them. The trailers are not only used for camping, but for many fundraising events and service projects in the local community. Not only do these trailers serve a functional purpose, but they hold considerable sentimental value as well.
 
The leaders of Troop 507 have decided to undertake this fundraising solicitation to replace the trailers of both troops, as well as replace the stolen gear for Troop 263. 


Camping is fundamental to scouting and adjusting to the circumstances on the ground to address the needs of the troop is vital. Scouting helps to create young individuals of character who contribute back to our community each and every day.
 
We are asking for any financial assistance that you are willing to provide in helping the troops replace the trailers. In the event the trailers are found, the funds will be used to either repair or replace missing items, with any possible surpluses being used to broaden the troops’ impacts on the community, especially as it relates to current and potential scouts who cannot afford to participate.
