Lama Zopa's Lawudo Gompa
Donation protected
Hi my name is Dom.
You may have come across this page due to a blog post, group message or finding a painting I created of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. I made this page in case anyone felt the inspiration to donate.
Last year in October 2022, I made a trek in Nepal with a group to Lawudo led by Venerable Robina Courtin.
For people who don't know Lawudo is where Lama Zopa's previous incarnation lived, Kunzang Yeshe. Lama Zopa was also born very close by in Thame and recognised as Kunzang Yeshe's reincarnation.
This trek was one of the inspirations for the painting of Lama Zopa I made not long after his sad and sudden passing.
Funds raised here are to give back to Rinpoche's original home in Nepal, and where Rinpoche's sister Ani Samten still lives at Lawudo.
Only as recently as 2019 did they receive running clean water without needing to walk down the mountains to collect river water. Electricity is scarce and there is no central heating. But it is an incredibly rare and beautiful place in world.
Lawudo is very remote and there are still many things to do there.
I created this page just in case if anyone felt inspired to donate then you can do so here and I will make sure the money is sent to Lawudo so they can fulfil their needs and improve the environment.
Lama Zopa left wishes to fulfil there at Lawudo, such as building a further shrine to Padmasambhava, donations here will also go towards making Rinpoche's wishes a reality, read more information here: Padmasambhava Pure Land Project, Zangdog Palri.
If you would like to learn more about attending future treks to Lawudo you can visit https://lawudo-trek.org/
Rinpoche still have many wishes to fulfil at Lawudo Gompa.
Any small amount would be most gratefully welcomed.
Many thanks to you.
