Lampton Family Adoption Fund

Note from Peggy Lampton (adoptive mother):

"I was asked to introduce my family and the reason why the Go Fund Me Page is being started.

Most people who will see this already know who we are and that God has blessed Dave and I with a family that is blended in many ways. Family over the years has changed in definition but, for me family isn't just about the bloodline but about the heart. Our family has one major commonality, we were all created by the same God and brought together as a family unit. All of us have a different, unique, story all our own.

Two years ago, after we thought our family was complete, I was talking with my friend Camille and she asked if we knew of someone who was looking to adopt. I told her no and asked her details. After sitting on it for a couple of days and praying, I asked Dave and the kids, "hypothetically," if they would be ok with adding a family member. They all said yes and then I told them it wasn't really hypothetical. HEHE! Through several conversations with Camille, who I might add was one of our biggest supporters and prayer warriors, and MJ's aunt, who was also in prayer, we started believing that we would have a new child. I still wasn't 100 percent. For a month we didn't really hear anything. The day MJ was born his aunt sent me a pic of him and I immediately fell in love with his chunky cheeks. I cried because I was worried my emotions were clouding my judgment and overriding God's will. I thought maybe this wasn't God's will but, my will. I remember standing in the store buying a few items I knew we needed to have a baby enter our home. We didn't really have the money but, I felt God was telling me to buy the stuff. I knew if MJ did not come to our home someone else could use the items I bought. We prayed and asked God that if this was His plan barriers would be broken. Less than a week later, after a couple of necessary meetings, MJ became our son and the kids' brother. I have never felt more tired and old, LOL. I will tell you that the exhaustion barely touches the surface of how blessed we are. He has been our son for almost two years now in our hearts and now we are working toward the legal aspect. Due to the fact that his aunt is still involved, we have gained extended family as well. God is so good and I know that He still has a plan for our family and each of my children individually. God placed MJ in our home and I can't wait to see the plan God has ordained for our little man."
