Lanai’s Army Against Lymphoma Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone! Some of you may know me and my situation, some may not. My name is Salatney, but I go by Lanai. Family knows me by Latney. I’m currently battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 2. Here is a brief story:
It all started in October when I felt a swollen lymph node and suddenly lost my voice when I was working. I had gotten checked out with my primary dr and he requested multiple scans and a biopsy. No one locally could help me out and stated I’m too young and my situation has too many complications due to the fact that the core of the mass is too close to vital organs so they urgently ordered me to go to a University hospital which I chose to be UC Davis. From October to January, I didn’t have a diagnosis until I had another biopsy done at Davis. It’s been very overwhelming and beyond terrifying for me physically and mentally. I start chemotherapy March 17th and will be getting treatment every other Thursday at UC Davis. I will also be needing lab work done and my PICC line dressing changed every Tuesday, weekly there at Davis. My oncologist stated that I will undergo 8-12 cycles of chemotherapy which rounds to 4-6 months, possibly longer. Before all of this happened, I was working 12hr shifts as a server. Didn’t really expect the worst, but unfortunately I had to end my employment at GK Mongolian BBQ in November due to my body weakening and a lost voice.

Since I’ve been diagnosed, it’s been a very stressful and painful time. I’ve lost 20lbs unintentionally and lost my appetite completely. I have horrible body pain and struggle sleeping at night. The mass is in my chest and neck which pushes on important nerves in my body. I unfortunately can’t do any heavy lifting or even hygiene care like washing my own hair or putting on deodorant. When I lift my arms, the mass pushes against my neck and causes pain. My voice is very raspy because the mass is pushing my trachea to the right which also causes me to have shortness of breath. I am currently on many medications. I personally don’t like taking pills, but I know and understand that I need them. Cancer comes with a lot of tears, stress, overthinking, negative thoughts, insecurities, etc. I try and fight every day. Some days are harder than others, but deep down I know I will beat this.

I personally don’t like the fact that I have to do this, but I have to accept that I need to seek help because I have no source of income. Disability is taking a long while and I am unemployed. If you’d like to donate to my situation, it’ll be very helpful and I will be very grateful! All expenses will go to:
- any car maintenance I come across due to UC Davis being 196 miles there and back (gas, oil changes, tires, etc)
- snacks, drinks, books, small blankets, etc. for when I have my treatments since they will be a length of 4 hour infusions
- minor
bills (phone, car, etc.)
- first aid supplies (bandages, supplements, etc)
- cool wigs lol (for when I possibly lose my hair)

I will greatly appreciate any donation received. If any reason you are unable to donate, sharing my GoFundMe is more than enough compassion for me. One love <3
