My brother in law Lance Whitehill was in a dirtbike accident on September 26th, 2020. A collision with an intact barbed wire fence left him with a severe neck laceration and shattered right wrist. I will forever remember watching my sister run to him and remain calm and collected despite seeing her husband in such a scary circumstance. A newly registered nurse, Marissa took one look at his neck and knew we had to get him to the ER. Her composure and withholding of tears until Lance was out of sight still amazes me today.

He was transported by ambulance to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas. Here he underwent neck surgery where he received both internal and external stitches. This is in addition to a 3 hour surgery to repair his wrist. He was told he may never regain full range of motion due to the specific bones that were shattered.

Luckily Lance is still here with us today, and for that, we thank God immensely for watching over him. He now needs some help from us, as his medical bills will not be covered by insurance. Lance returned to work 12 days after his accident against the recommendation of his doctor; he is tough as nails, y'all. Please consider helping him during this time of need and uncertainty.
