Landers Gaydosh- 2024 Ice Climbing Championship

Landers has been climbing all his life. He started at an early age and has passionately pursued it ever since. Over the years he has expanded his range to multiple disciplines including competition, trad, sport, bouldering, and most recently mixed and ice climbing.

In the competition realm he has podium positions in national bouldering and route climbing competitions, including the top spot of Youth C National Champion for lead/top rope in 2022. While for ice climbing, Landers was the U16 Ice Climbing North American Champion and U16 Ice Climbing World Champion in 2022 (Switzerland) and the Speed Ice Climbing World Champion in 2023 (Finland). He is a member of the US Ice Climbing National team.

As his parents, we have saved every year to budget for his competitions, particularly those where he has had the opportunity to represent the USA as a national team member. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly challenging for us to support him financially and while we have hesitated over the last years to reach out with a Go Fund Me, it has come to a point where we are asking for any help friends, family, or fans of Landers are compelled to give. If you know Landers, he is unassuming and humble in these accomplishments. It means so much to our family because we want to see Landers continue to pursue his passion and take advantage of these opportunities. It has been so meaningful for us to see him represent and win for the US team the last 2 years.

All funds raised through this Go Fund Me will be used for flight and travel to the 2024 UIAA Youth Ice Climbing World Championship for Landers and a chaperone. It was announced for this January to be held in France.

Any additional funds raised above that expense will be used for upcoming travel for rock climbing competitions with the potential for both continental and international travel in that sport as well in the coming year.
