Landon Beasley, born 6/9/09, to parents Brian and Angie (Murdie) Beasley, has had a life filled with infection, disease, and sadly pain.
Diagnosed with Hirschsprung Disease at 36 hours old, Landon underwent his first surgery at 7 days old, removing a portion of his large intestine.
After many infections, a cecostomy tube in place, and 3 internal stretches, doctors had high hopes his Hirschsprung disease was under control and the cecostomy tube was removed in 2019.
Then has the world shut down in 2020, Landon was rushed by ambulance to Lurie’s hospital. They discovered and diagnosed Landon with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. This is where the white blood cells attack and kill the red cells. Landon has never been in remission and hospitalized over 15 times in the past 3 years.
With high doses of prednisone and hemolysis, his gallbladder was recently removed and is in early stages of liver disease. Landon was weaned off the prednisone before it damaged more of his organs.
Doctors have a treatment option with an intravenous drug, Daratumumab. Except the insurance is requiring $9,800 upfront for just two months of treatment, before allowing Landon this possible life saving treatment.
Through it all, Landon is trying to live his best life. He remains in good spirits spending time with family and his friends.
We thank you all for your love and continued support. We couldn’t do this without you.
