LandUseAttorney for Dahlgren Land
Donation protected
The Dahlgren Property is one of the most beautiful pieces of land in North Bend. Many of us have questions about the process of how and why such a treasure was initially zoned as EP1 (which includes lower level industrial use) and is now zoned for high density residential development. Though we fully understand and respect landowner rights in this situation, many of us would like time to determine if we can come up with a land use option that would meet the land owner’s needs; fit within the city’s vision and better meet the needs of current North Bend residents. A Land Use Attorney is required to review relevant zoning and other history tied to the land so that we can better assess our options. Many of the relevant documents have already been assembled for such a review. $500 will give us a couple of hours for such a review which will include a one page summary of findings. Please contribute $5 to $50 on or before May 17th, as we hope to have the review completed by the city/developer’s open house on May22nd. Everyone contributing will receive the findings of the review. I’m personally contributing because I feel I need to do more to see if something can be done to find a better option for this incredible land. If the results of the review look promising, we may even be able to put together a consortia (like the one on the east side of town that just secured funding from the city, king county and others) to purchase the land for a park that would expand the current open space of Tanner landing and the Snoqualmie Trail. A bond initiative may also be an option. Please contribute between $5 and $50 so we can have an unbiased opinion of our options.
