Lane County Missing Persons Project

Missing persons is a prolific problem in Lane County. Scrolling through local area groups on social media, one gets the sense that this is more than a passing issue.

In early 2022, Lane County Mugshots launched a project to tackle the work of helping locate missing persons from our area. With our ability to reach a large audience daily and with law enforcement resources being limited, we knew that we could help fill a gap.

What we learned along the way surprised us. It taught us a few things and provided insights on how things can be improved. But mostly it has created some concerns that we are compelled to share and address.

Now our goal to help in Lane County has grown into a nation-wide effort to revolutionize the way missing person cases are processed and information is distributed in order to increase public exposure to those cases.

Our passion and our mission is to help families (especially those who lack resources) to get their message out and bring closure to as many cases as possible.
