Lane Gander - medical and monthly bills help
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nicki Edwards and my son Lane (Goose) Gander (age 28) was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on July 31st. We are lucky that he is still with us and has no head or spine injury. However, he was admitted to the hospital as a trauma with multiple broken bones and underwent his first surgery today on his leg. A second surgery may be needed down the road dependent on how his recovery goes.
The plate that was placed in his knee will drastically restrict his leg movement for several months, and doctors are estimating that he won't be able to return to his electrician apprenticeship for at least 3 to 6 months. At this point, we are uncertain if the apprenticeship is still an option for him considering he just started this month and won't be able to perform the requirements.
In addition to the hospital inpatient and surgical expenses, he will have lots of therapy and follow-up appointments over the upcoming months, and as previously mentioned, a potential 2nd surgery to remove the plate. I will update this post occasionally if there are any updates on his condition.
He is a single-income household with two girls ages 6 and 8. He needs to focus on his recovery - not the looming medical expenses and normal monthly bills. Any help is appreciated and we are grateful for whatever can be donated. If you cannot donate, please share and prayers/good wishes are also very much appreciated.
