Lane Tech Robotics Team: The Chicago Style BotDogs

Hello!
We're the Lane Tech HS Robotics Team: The Chicago Style BotDogs! We are a diverse group of over 100 dedicated students from one of Chicago Public Schools’ most selective schools, and we are entering our tenth year competing in the FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC).
FIRST Robotics allows students from around the world to experience engineering firsthand with the support of professional engineers and mentors. In an intense eight-week Build Season, teams are challenged to design, build, program, and test an industrial grade robot which can accomplish tasks unique to a competition that changes every year.
The BotDogs are the proud Winners of the 2018 Central Illinois Regional, the 2013 Rookie All Star award, the 2014 Engineering Inspiration award, the 2015 Judges Award and the 2016, 2017, 2022, & 2023 Spirit Award. Since our Rookie Year in 2013, we have qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship three times, and placed among the top third of the championship each time!
We love FRC and what it teaches us, however, it is extremely costly to run an FRC team. Each year we must pay upwards of $15,000 to cover team and competition registrations, new electronics parts, tool replacements, building materials, travel expenses, and much more. In our 2023 season, our robot alone cost $6,000 to build.
Please donate to the BotDogs to support Chicago youth STEM education!
