Laptops for Class V in Jaipur!
Donation protected
I have just returned from 3 weeks in India, working on blended and collaborative learning with teachers and students. What a privilege!
The class V students were totally engaged in their first lesson ever using computers. In groups of 6 with one computer to share, they are contributing to a research project exploring the use of technology in low-resourced schools. Unfortunately, the 4 old second hand desktops in the classroom did not work, so using our own laptops and 2 new ones, somehow we managed!
The Indian government funds teachers’ salaries and provides uniforms, textbooks, and daily meals for students aged 6-14 in government schools. With over 1.2 million schools, this is an enormous contribution and so there is limited funding for other learning resources, including computers.
To continue this project, I am seeking support to buy 4 more laptops (6 groups of 6 for the 36 students enrolled in the class).
All donations, no matter how small, will have an enormous impact on the learning of these students.
