Laptops For Schools Keep Students Learning
As a result of the pandemic there are thousands of young people unable to continue their education from home due to the lack of a Laptop. We recognised this was an issue late last year and immediately started collecting unwanted laptops which we refurbished and donated to schools.
However due to the scale and urgency of the situation we need to greatly scale up our operations. And it would help do this if we were able to install new hard drives in each donated laptop. We can install a new Solid State Drive in minutes, rather than wiping the old drive to destroy the old data which can take hours. Plus a shiny new SSD will make the old laptops work much better for the students.
The cost of each new SDD hard drive is about £20.00 - So far we have funded the entire campaign including purchasing many of the drives, but if we can get donations to pay for more drives then we can greatly increase the volume and speed of turn around to get the laptops to where they need to go. Please donate what you are able, as every penny will be spent towards purchasing hard drives for laptops which will be gifted to a disadvantaged pupil.
