LaRi Brisco (Ploszewski)

LaRi Jobina Brisco (Plosewski) was a proud and dedicated single mother of 5 and grandmother to 2. Her life was tragically stolen from us on Sunday, August 28th by a random evil act. Early in life, LaRi attended school at St. Florian (Hamtramck) and St. Clare of Montefalco (Grosse Pointe Park) and graduated from Dominican High School (Detroit). Her post-high school years included studies at Central Michigan University. LaRi was also a highly skilled medical professional. As a CNA and office aide, she lived her dream of working in the medical field. She joins her late father, mother, and child in everlasting life.

In the early hours of the morning on Sunday, LaRi picked up her eldest son from work and went to bed with plans for a long day ahead. Sunday was moving day for the family, so she proceeded to catch a rideshare to the UHaul store. Tragically, she was unaware that the store was not open until a few hours later. As she waited for another rideshare to pick her up, she was senselessly gunned down on the street, suffering multiple fatal gunshot wounds. She died doing what she did every day: working tirelessly to make a better life for her kids.

LaRi is survived by her 4, 8, 10, 17, and 21-year-old children and 1-year-old and 2-year-old grandchildren. The family greatly appreciates the kind words, thoughts, and prayers from the community. We are incredibly thankful for the diligent work of the Detroit Police Department in the quick apprehension of the subject and look forward to receiving earthly justice for LaRi. We ask for continued prayers of fortitude and wisdom. The family also asks for privacy as we move through this intense period of grief.
