Help Baby Larissa Find A Liver Donor!!!

Welcome friends and family from far and near. My daughter’a name is Larissa Mohammed and my name is Lesa Lalchan. Larissa is currently 8 months old and on the list for liver transplant. Larissa has an ongoing condition which is called Biliary Atresia this is caused when there’s a blockage in the tubes (ducts) that carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder. Larissa underwent surgery September 2023 at 3months old. The surgeon from the gastroenterologist theme removed her damaged bile ducts and her gallbladder and used a loop of her own small intestine to replace the damaged bile duct. However, this procedure was unsuccessful because Larissa has too many scarring on her liver so as time passed her condition has became worse. Larissa is currently at LIJ- Cohen’s Children Medical Center where she has a PICC line and a NG tube. Larissa’s PICC line is currently giving her liquid nutrition for her to gain proper weight and the NG tube is used for feedings as well as medications. Larissa has been on the liver transplant list since December 2023 but hasn’t received any donors. Larissa is only 8 months but she’s a bundle of joy for everyone at the hospital including her family. Larissa is always bubbly and laughing. She loves entertainment especially the television. She loves hugs, cuddles and kisses. She is a people person. She hates being alone. She is a well behave baby she doesn’t cry as much as some babies.
