Help Lark beat the second round of Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Family and Friends,

I am sharing this story with all of you, in the hopes that you can join me in helping to support the fight against Breast Cancer with Lark Stutts.

At the tender age of 53, Lark was going in for her annual mammogram as breast cancer ran in her family. Preliminary testing revealed a spot in her breast which ended up doing a surgery, followed by 5 rounds of radiation treatment and medication she would need to take for the rest of her life. During the time that Lark was fighting Breast Cancer and what she had thought was going to be her only round now to find out that it has ended up being her first round. Through the first round and this current round she was and is currently supported by her family Buster her husband, Faith her daughter, and Jenny her oldest Daughter. Plus her sisters and others family, church family, and friends have been a big support along during both journeys. To add to this time line when a mother’s concern should be focused on her little girl growing up, Faith at the age of 8 years old not knowing what her mother was currently going through due to Lark tried to hide it from her and was successful during the first round.. Lark was now entering the fight of her life round one. In hopes that this was the first and last fight toward breast cancer.

Time was of the essence, and radiation treatments ensued with the hopes making sure that all cancer was gone between the surgery and radiation. The follow up proved that the first round Lark has won. Followed by beating Breast Cancer round one, Lark had to have mammograms every 6 months and yet they all showed no breast cancer. When Lark not to long just turned 57 her 3 year MRI was due. She then scheduled and completed it in December. The results came in and the doctor told her that she had breast cancer. This was Lark’s second round of breast cancer showing its ugly face yet again. Now this journey has just began for Lark and her amazing support team. What is

What a lot of people don’t know due to Lark is a very private person on top of being a very proud person and not the type to ask for any type of help. Lark’s health insurance had increased due to the first round of breast cancer which caused her to have to pick a cheaper plan. Lark’s current insurance not covering but about 50% of the surgery that she needed to try to beat round two of breast cancer. Plus she is unable to work for at least 3 months due to the healing process from the bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction surgery.

She has completed her first week of healing from the surgery from the second round of breast cancer. During that time the doctor has called her to let her know that all the breast cancer has been removed and that at this time none of the cancer has spread.

Lark still has several appointments and at least one more surgery to go to complete the reconstruction from the bilateral mastectomy.

Lark has faced major surgery to remove the breast cancer and has beat the cancer this round yet now is faced with all the medical bills and the cost of going back and forth to OKlahoma City for her medical care during this time. As mentioned she is currently unable to work for at least 3 months or longer during the process of healing and completing the reconstruction surgery. Lark has health insurance, which covers some, but not all expenses. The bills are growing, and Lark is unable to work on top of Buster her husband is on disability due to his health and Faith who is now 12 years old has her focus on school.

This Go Fund Me account has been started to ease the burden on the family. Over the coming months, there will be countless doctor’s appointments for Lark. The normal costs of living are already astounding for all of us, without the added burden of two surgeries and several doctor visits to the doctors in Oklahoma City. Please consider giving any amount and sharing with your friends and family.

We thank you for your support, and may God bless you!
