Larry and Debbie Morrell's Journey
Donation protected
On Wednesday, October 5th, Debbie Morrell, a third grade teacher at Fishhawk Creek Elementary School and Larry Morrell, Hillsborough County Sheriff and DUI Task Force National Honor recipient, found out that just 2 months before his retirement, Larry has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Debbie was laid up with her back at this time and naturally they were both in shock. As they move through the journey ahead, they are led by their faith and the path the Lord has laid out for them. Larry is at peace with whatever it is that lies before him and is naturally worried about Debbie. Being the amazing man he is, rather than feeling bad for himself, he feels bad that the many, many friends, from the force, MADD, the hospitality industry, family, co-workers and brothers and sisters in Faith he has, have to go through feelings of sadness and hopelessness.
None of us are ever comfortable asking for help. This couple has always done so much for others and now it is time for us to do for them. While Larry and Debbie have always taken pride in the care of their own finances, they, along with their family members have agreed to let others help them defray the costs of medications, treatments, days off without pay or a possible leave for Debbie and the many other unexpected expenses that may come up. (An example of which is the $1000.00 out of network cost that Debbie incurred last week getting epidural shots so she can physically be able to face the challenges before them.)
If you are able to help out, first and foremost, prayers for strength for the both of them to be able to place the Lord in charge of what is ahead is the very best thing you can do. In addition, if you are able, any monetary donation would be appreciated. I truly know they will be thankful from the bottom of their huge hearts.
With all our love and prayers,
Debbie’s sisters- Maggie, Sandy, and Michelle,
With Lois Lukas and Jennie Osborne.
