Larry Brown my Dad

Hi there!
My name is Kelliegh Brown and I am the daughter of Larry Brown who is asking our Community for help.
It is I'm sure humbling for most to have to reach out and ask for support. I'm typically on the other side of fundraising. So this seems strange and out of my comfort zone to do this. I don’t even know how to ask or what to say. But simply put, we need financial support to help my dad regain his life back.
A few weeks ago my Dad had a stroke due to high blood pressure. By the grace of God and my sister’s fast reaction to call 911 and Canby Fire, he is alive today. My sister wasn’t even supposed to be with my Dad the day he had a stroke. THANK YOU GOD!
He is currently in a skilled nursing facility. Having recently put myself through school in the medical field, I am WELL AWARE how difficult health insurance is, the shortage on medical staff and medical care. It is heart-wrenching to see my Dad and where he is. We are working through this and he will soon be at a new facility close to myself and sister, so we can be with him daily.
In 8 days we won’t have health insurance coverage for about 30 days and then hopefully we will get coverage back for a short 20 days. I’m currently applying for other coverage for him, but it takes about 3 months to see if you qualify.
So my big ask from myself and our family is financial support right now to cover the out-of-pocket expenses that are coming our way in about a week. If anyone is interested in knowing how much the fee is daily, I’m happy to share it with you. We also hope to find some further care for him that we can provide. This is hard and nerve-racking to put this out into the universe, it feels very heavy on my shoulders. I do know, it will all work out and I will keep giving back.
My mom and Dad are never ones to ask for help. They’re typically the ones driving around delivering food for their church (not sure they should be driving though). My Dad is the healthiest 84 (almost 85, August 9) I know. He was still ice skating at the age of 80 and he will make sure to tell you that.
Thank you from my family to yours for even considering and reading this!
