Larry Summers is fighting for his life!

Lawrence Summers is fighting for his life and he needs our help. He has been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus and is currently undergoing a simultaneous regimen of both chemotherapy and radiation.
Larry (a beloved resident of Cass County, Texas, since 1983) knew his health was failing because he was unable to swallow food, and eventually even liquids, as an unknown tumor grew in his esophagus . His condition deteriorated and was mis-diagnosed by physicians until his weight withered down to a paltry 106 pounds.
Larry, 68, an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow recipient, and former photojournalist, has fought other battles the past two decades. He was the daily caretaker for his dying mother, Cass County native Virginia Ray, and after her death, he fell into years of depression and eventual homelessness. Larry lived in a tent for almost two years before he was able to find a job and eventually a small apartment. Things were beginning to look up again.
Larry is a fighter, and his body is responding to treatment. He has regained 20 pounds and is surprisingly strong, both physically and mentally, considering his circumstances.
But now, unable to work, his finances and self-sufficiency is crumbling again. WITH OUR HELP, Larry can get caught up on the expenses he’s occurred during the aggressive chemo/radiation. After he gets caught up he will be able to sustain his living.
Thank you for your generosity, and please keep Larry in your prayers!
