Larry Templeton Medical Support Fund

Recently, the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity was made aware that Larry Templeton, our beloved security guard for many years, has been living with Leukemia for the past three years. Originally from Iowa and 51 years old, Larry is a simple man that has never asked for handouts, but, at this point, Sigma Alpha Mu feels obligated to assist Larry and his family. He has two wonderful sons, ages 23 and 26, and our chapter wants to ensure they get through these times as gracefully as possible.

Aside from working at Signal 88 Security for the past nine years, Larry served in the military for 13 years, and before that, he was a paramedic in Kansas City for seven years. Larry’s health was maintained for the past few years, but now, the Leukemia has spread and become more aggressive. Currently, Larry is taking pills to help neutralize the disease in the short term, but if ineffective, Larry will start high dose chemotherapy in the Fall.

Larry’s hobbies include spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting. Currently, Larry lives in Minneapolis. Before that, he was a member of the Madison community for four years. Each time he works security for campus fraternities, he drives over 4 hours, which is truly underappreciated.

Larry Templeton has been a ray of hope and friendship for all brothers at Sigma Alpha Mu-Beta Iota (Wisconsin), so we hope to relieve the financial and emotional burden. Please join and help us assist Larry and his family. Any amount is appreciated, and will go to great lengths to help provide for Larry's medical bills and the time he is unable to work.
