A little over 4 months ago, (Sept 29th to be exact) I suffered a catastrophic life changing incident.
As many of you know, I have had many medical problems in the past 10 years or so, but nothing prepared myself or my family for this, I am now paralyzed from T-4 (at the nipple line) down, I have no feeling at all.
In my 72 years, I never thought I would ask for any help in any financial way, but this is truly overwhelming. We are hoping to raise enough money to obtain much needed medical equipment and help offset what insurance cannot/will not cover.
I truly miss the “Sport” of bowling, the competition, the rivalries, the talking “smack” and then shaking hands with the victor. I have bowled as a member of a team and of course I have played when it’s all me, I loved bowling either way!
I hope at some time to get back to my love of bowling, albeit teaching from the concourse or just offering moral support. This is one of the many things I truly miss, helping with a minor adjustment, reading the lanes…or just letting someone vent frustration about the conditions. It is all music to my ears, and all words that I have said to myself from time to time.
