Hello, my name is Jodi Ploof and Larry Ploof is my husband. As many of you know Larry had to have open heart surgery. On Saturday, September 9th, we had took Larry into the emergency department at Saint Mary’s because he was feeling very sick do to a cyst by his tailbone. While he was in surgery to get the cyst removed, they had noticed irregular heart rhythms and blood pressure. Since they found these issues with his heart, he was admitted to the cardiac unit on Monday the 11th. Due to a lot of testing and extensive research they had found many blockages in his heart which then led to the open heart surgery on September 18th. The test the night prior thought to had a triple bypass and possible valve replacement. He ended up having a quadruple bypass without at valve replacement. After the surgery, he was in the ICU for a total of 4 days. When they could finally take all the tubes out, he was transferred to the cardiac unit. He became stronger and was able to come home. Larry ended up spending a total of 18 days in the hospital. He did have to come home with a life vest, until he finds out if he needs a permanent defibrillator implant. He will still have to wear the life vest for about 2 months yet. Due to these conditions in Larry’s health, he isn’t able to work until he is fully recovered. This is his story on why we are asking for some help.
Larry is a very kind, hardworking, and would do anything for anyone kinda man. He has a sensitive side and would never want to be the person to have to ask for help from anyone. This has became a very hard time in our lives. We are asking our community, friends, and family for help during this hard time. We promise to give back when we can. All the best and God Bless!
