Help Lars!
Donation protected
Our friend, Lars, was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident. On June 27, 2019, an unidentified driver ran a stop sign, initiating a terrible chain reaction. A white van hit Lars’ scooter, launching him into oncoming traffic where another vehicle ran over him, dragging him across asphalt. Unfortunately, the white van fled the scene; while we want to feel optimistic the driver will be found, the passing days are discouraging.
Currently, Lars is on day 12 in the Progressive Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. Lars has seven broke ribs and a fractured vertebrate but the most significant injuries are to his right leg. On July 9, Lars had his fourth surgery to begin repairing the major soft tissue damage to his lower leg, thigh and butt cheek. Lars will remain in the hospital for an uncertain amount of time and his recovery, post-hospital release, is extensive.
Before Lars can go back to work, he will be on a long regimen of physical therapy and wound treatment. Life’s obligations don’t stop when accidents happen; medical bills and lost wages add insult to injury. Lars and Karen are solid people who selflessly give but are reluctant to ask for it in return. That’s where we come in: we’ll ask for them. Please consider a donation so Lars and Karen can focus their energies on Lars’ health and healing. Any help is very appreciated.
