Lars Thomas - Donate to help aid his recovery

Jonathan Downes (Director for the Centre of Fortean Zoology) writes:
“I have known Lars Thomas for many years. He was one of the first members of the Centre for Fortean Zoology going back to 1994 and he has been a greatly appreciated and a much loved member and colleague ever since. For the last 20 years he has run the CFZ laboratory from his home in Copenhagen and has arranged DNA testing for us, for free, for a number of priceless cryptozoological specimens.
When his wife died in tragic circumstances over ten years ago, I did my best to comfort him and his family, becoming Uncle Jon to his boys. When my wife died nearly four years ago, he did the same for me. We have published two of his books and there are fewer people in the cryptozoological society which I hold in higher regard.
Despite all the jokes that people make about the alleged comparisons, and I assure you they have all been made up for humorous purposes between me and another bearded and long haired individual who had a “family” of people to whom he was not related, the CFZ IS a very real family, and we look after our own.
Lars has recently been taken into hospital with a serious condition; he is partially paralysed and unable to work, and we have no idea when he will be up and about again. So, just as we have on previous occasions, when one of our members or friends have been hit by tragedy, we are appealing for donations to help him with his recovery and to tide him over until he is able to work again.
We have never done crowdfunding like this before, and I would ask you to be as generous as you are able".
