IVE Seminary: Help Remodel Our Hall
The Institute of the Incarnate Word’s seminary in the United States is called The Fulton Sheen House of Formation. The FSHF was started in Maryland–just outside of Washington, DC–in September, 1998 in order to offer priestly formation for IVE vocations in the United States, and began with only four IVE members–2 priests and 2 seminarians. Because of the increase in numbers, the FSHF had to move to a larger space–it is currently located on the property of St. John Baptist de la Salle parish in Chillum, MD.
The FSHF, now in its 17th year, has about 50 men in formation–our seminarians studying there hail from the United States, Canada, Mexico, El Salvador, Argentina, Ecuador, India, and many other countries.
In order to meet the needs of the religious community, we are striving to make our parish hall more presentable and pleasant for our members as well as for our fellow parishioners, family, friends, and beloved guests. 
Our first step in this project is to sheetrock and paint the walls of La Salle hall. Not only will this add a nice touch to its appearance, it will also reduce our energy costs (esp. with heating in the winter!). Moreover, we will be able to update our hall, which has not received much attention since its construction in 1951. The hall serves as a dining room for the seminarians, a place of reception for important celebrations, as well as where the seminary holds conferences and activities of various types.
With all the materials in mind, the total cost for this first phase is $4200. This will include:
(1) x135 Drywalls
(2) About 30 lbs of Nails
(3) x11 4.5 gal All-Purpose Compound
(4) Around 1800 ft. of Joint Tape
(5) x150 28oz. Drywall Adhesive Tubes
(6) x4 Epoxy Guns
(7) About 15 gal of Paint Primer
In the future, we are also planning to replace all of the windows, retile the floor, and install a divider in the hall for multi-purpose use.
