Laser Cut Viral Guards for Essential Workers

WE can make a difference, WE can save lives, and WE found a much needed way to help.

While the support for those on the frontlines of the medical industry has been overwhelming (and very much needed), we noticed in the last week that there is a very vulnerable sector of people that for the most part have been over looked:

-Pharmacy workers
-Local connivence store cashiers
-Restaurant staff handing over take out
-Gas station attendants
-Small banks tellers
-Anyone else in any of the “essential services” category (which is large!)

On average people in this sector interact with hundreds of people per day, putting them in a very high risk category to either contract or to spread the disease. What if there was a way to increase their safety? A way to offer more protection for them so they could go home after a long day of work to their loved ones?

Well we came up with a very simple, inexpensive way to help them, but in order to do that, we need YOUR help.

Our solution, the VIRAL SHEILD. A custom designed laser cut piece of solid pure acrylic. It blocks any airborne particles from coming into contact with either the worker, or the patron in any interactions they may need to have. It can be easily cleaned and sanitized and its been designed to be easily moved to different locations for places that will need it to be used by multiple workers.

Roughly 2ft x 3ft in size with a small “cash slot” at the bottom to pass through. Fully covers a workers facial area.

Big box retailers (like Safeway and Walmart) are already installing these across their wide network of stores, buying up much of the available acrylic stock and driving the prices up while reducing the available quantity thats out there. We have already secured enough resources to produce up to 1,000 units but we need your help to purchase the materials and time on the machines to make them, as well as to support the people that will be going out to deliver these around the Bay Area. If we get enough donations we will start to ship them as well to areas like New York and LA who are also in the same boat we are. We have multiple industrial lasers, a warehouse facility and have secured a local source for the acrylic at a discounted rate. 

100% of donations will go to purchasing materials, creating and delivering the guards.

The polished acrylic guards can be an effective solution for exposure protection against viruses and bacteria by reducing exposure to people coughing, sneezing and spraying droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain viruses.
