Last minute funding crisis at Born To Perform College Derby

We are Shanley & Megan from Born To Perform College.

We have recently encountered an unexpected and deeply disappointing challenge. After initially being granted funding in October and investing significant personal funds and unpaid labour into preparing for the program, we were informed that the funding has been withdrawn without prior warning to 20 sites across the UK, including Born To Perform.

This devastating news came the day after the new government came into power, after we had already dedicated substantial resources and effort to making this program a reality.

Despite these challenges, our commitment to your education and dreams remains unwavering. We are securing private investors and grants to ensure that the course will continue as planned. We refuse to let bureaucratic decisions crush the aspirations of our talented students.

Our dedicated team have made incredible sacrifices to build this program from the ground up. We've been working tirelessly and have even closed other businesses to focus solely on this course. Despite meeting the demands of the funding company, they decided to prioritise only those sites with over 20 pre-enrolled students.

But we won't let this setback stop us. We believe in the potential of every student and are determined to provide the high-quality, practical-based training you deserve. We are pulling together every resource, including private sponsorships and donations, to make this happen. Your future in the performing arts is too important to us to let this course fail.

This summer, we are actively fundraising and have set up a GoFundMe campaign to support the course. We invite you to share this campaign with your networks to help us reach our goal. Additionally, we are in the process of securing another provider for 2025 to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program.

We are asking for your continued support and understanding as we navigate through this challenge. We are not only fighting to keep this course alive but to ensure it thrives. We are driven by the passion and dreams of our students, and with the support of our community, we will succeed.
