Getting the W for Trans Healthcare in the South.
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Anna Lange. For the past four and a half years, my employer denied me medically necessary health coverage, simply because I am transgender. I filed a Federal lawsuit in 2019 and finally won my case on 9-27-22. A valid question is, why am I asking for help if I won my case? The reason is the county has appealed the Federal Court Judge's decision so I will not receive any funds until this case is officially over. This case won't be over until the county withdraws its appeal or the 11th Circuit rules in my favor. In the meantime, I am happy to announce that I am scheduled for surgery on 8-3-23!!!!! Hopefully, I won't get denied anymore. Fingers crossed. With that being said, I still have to cover lodging for a month, airfare, food and supplies. Since I won't be allowed to take public transportation, I will have to take an Uber to and from the hospital and post-surgery checkups. Nothing is cheap in New York. I can't thank you enough to everyone who has donated thus far. Figuring out how I am going to cover New York prices on a law enforcement officer's salary here in Georgia has certainly weighed heavy on me but y'all have certainly helped. I am humbled. Anyone that knows me, knows I do not like to ask for help with anything. It will almost be 5 years of fighting this by the time I have surgery and I am so ready to move on with my life.
Thank You!!!!!!
