Last Supper Icon - a Tribute to Jean-Marc Salloum
Donation protected
St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in El Paso, TX is a fixture in the community not only for its many middle eastern descendants but the community as a whole. The church’s detailed collection of hand-painted byzantine icons are a representation of not only the saints and scripture but the families and friends who donate and restore them.
As the church clergy seeks to complete its icon collection, we reflect on the importance of icons as having the ability to preserve memory and history of not only the painted subject but for the blessing of eternal memory for whom the icon is donated.

As we reflect on the life of one of the church’s chief stewards - the dearly departed Jean-Marc Salloum, during the remembrance of his birthday on July 2nd, his friends and family wish to collectively donate in his memory the Last Supper icon which will be featured behind the baptismal font.

A donation of any amount will go directly to St. George’s icon fund spearheaded by Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Fadi Rabbat, and will be used for the authentic- hand-painted last supper icon including 12 Saints and Christ - an Icon not currently installed within the church. The full icon will encompass the entire bay at approximately 12’ tall by 20 linear feet wide. The goal for the completion of the icon is by the end of the year so any donation would be appreciated before the end of July to have enough time to prepare the icon by Christmas.

Donations of any amount are tax-deductible. Donors will be supplied with formal paperwork directly from the church. Any amount donated over the target will be allocated for another icon within the church.
